Plantation Teak Logs
Teak (Tectona Grandis) grown in the plantations in South America is a renewable wood resource. Teak is known to mankind for its extraordinary endurances and high resistance to fungus, termites and other wood borers owing to its natural oil content, which not only serves as preservative in wood but also prevents corrosion of metal fittings and fixtures.
Plantation grown teak timber is thus, a proven structural timber for special end use requirements where stability, durability and appearance is important. Dimensional stability is an attribute of dense fibers and its closely knit pattern that controls the shrinkage and weathering to minimum.
